How can a hall floor in need of renovation be transformed into an attractive and hard-wearing surface within two days? With suitable Silikal products and good installation work. This was put into practice for "wällermarkt", where an old warehouse floor was to become the basis for the new warehouse - clean, resilient and safe. The result was impressive and Andreas Giehl, CEO of wällermarkt, was delighted: "We are very satisfied. For us, it was the perfect floor to launch our delivery service here in the Westerwald region."
And it went that quickly: after inspecting the hall, the installers quickly started the renovation: first sanding and shot-blasting the concrete substrate, with the special feature of refurbishing an old threshold. Silikal has many products for such and other special tasks. Silikals mortar "R 17" was used here. The threshold was filled and rebuilt. And as is typical for us: fast curing. In addition, cracks in the old concrete floor were widened, stapled and filled with Silikal RU 380 Type of Resins. The tried and tested Type of Resins - a two-component methacrylate system for absorbent and non-absorbent substrates, with good adhesion and mechanical strength - was also used as a Priming. Silikal RV 368 was applied as a scratch coat to level the floor and provide a secure finish to the Surfaces . After a practical curing time of one hour, the installation team was able to continue with the main layer: Silikal R 61 HW, applied as a flow coating and sprinkled with Silikal FM 1. Here too: Fully cured after one hour. Silikal R 82 was used as a two-layer sealer. The last layer of sealer also hardened within one hour and the new floor was immediately ready for use. In the meantime, not only hand pallet trucks, but also vans are used in the wällermarkt warehouse. All types of goods produced in the Westerwald region are loaded there. wällermarkt launched its online platform as a regional delivery service in April 2022.
