Silikal in Switzerland – New concept impresses participants

At the end of January, Silikal invited customers from German-speaking Switzerland to a two-day advanced seminar on the topic of "PMMA liquid plastic for building waterproofing and floor coating" at CAMPUS SURSEE.

At the beginning of the seminar, Dominic Lüthi, Sales Switzerland, and Tim Neu, Application Engineer, introduced the participants to the special features of handling, processing, and maintaining Silikal MMA-resins and answered initial questions about the products. The participants found the extensive practical section particularly exciting, as it gave them the opportunity to test the Silikal resins for floor coatings and waterproofing systems for themselves.

Our partner Thomas Bösiger led the practical section and trained the participants in the correct preparation and application of Silikal primers, waterproofing membranes, floor coatings and top coat. Each participant was able to test and apply the products on their own sample piece. Thanks to our wide selection of color chips, sands, and pigments for main coats and top coats, a variety of individually designed sample pieces were created at the end.

The choice of location, the open exchange between participants, and the excellent implementation by our partner made the event a complete success," says Dominic Lüthi, who developed the new concept for customer training. The participation of Stephan Bernhard, who will unfortunately be leaving Silikal Suisse AG as managing director at the end of March, also contributed to the success of the training courses. With his many years of experience, he was on hand to offer advice and support on both days.

The customized training concept combines relevant theory on working with MMA resins with a comprehensive practical component. Small groups of no more than 15 people enable personal interaction with all participants and guarantee correct processing. This concept appealed to both long-standing and new customers alike, convincing both groups equally.
