The Silikal R17 mortar system consists of a filler component in a 15 kg bag and the corresponding hardener liquid in a 2 litre can. Both components are mixed to produce a pourable mass that is poured into the area to be repaired. For repairs on vertical or sloping surfaces, there is the mortar system SILIKAL^® R 17 thix. Of course (as with all other repair materials), preparation of the substrate is necessary to achieve a perfect quality of the repair. For optimum adhesion, a primer coat of e.g. SILIKAL^® R 52 or R 51 is required. For example, one standard set of SILIKAL^® R 17 allows the restoration of an area of approx. 1 m² with a thickness of approx. 1 cm. SILIKAL^® R 17 reactive resin mortar is also supplied in special grades.
